Milan Travel and accommodation
June 16 – June 27, 2025
As one of the most well connected European cities and the largest metropolitan centre in Italy, Milan offers visitors many ways to both arrive and depart the city. Moving around within the city is usually frictionless and efficient and served by many modes of transport including the very convenient Metro (underground rail). Housing can be found spread throughout all districts of the city. Venice Studio does not manage travel and accommodation for students.

Travel
If you are arriving by plane:
Milan, like many large European cities is serviced by multiple airports. The 3 airports are: Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio (Milan Bergamo).
Milan Malpensa Airport
The largest airport servicing Milan and surrounding regions, it sees arrivals and departures of intercontinental and European airlines. Terminals are serviced by an efficient train service to Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale) with metro connections to all areas of Milan. Cheap bus transfers to Milan are also available from Malpensa to Milan Central Station.
Milan Linate Airport
The closest airport to Milan city centre catering to mostly domestic and short-haul European carriers.
Bergamo Orio al Serio (Milan Bergamo)
Servicing European low-cost carriers, the airport is located outside the city of Bergamo with regular connection to Milan by bus.
If you are arriving by train:
Milan Central Station is located in Milan’s city centre. Visitors can walk to their destination directly from the station, catch a taxi, uber or connect with one of the many metro lines to travel to all parts of the city. The station is very well connected to high-speed rail services arriving and departing from cities inc. Rome, Venice, Zürich and beyond.
Accommodation
Accommodation of all types is available in Milan, with the more costly options toward the centre of town and the less costly toward the periphery. Hostels and airbnb’s are widespread while Milan is also home to some of the most glamorous luxury hotels in Europe. Due to the length of the program it is more than likely that short term apartment rentals via airbnb or other reputable platforms will provide the best value for money. Venice Studio does not provide or recommend accommodation, however, it manages a private platform connecting students with other students who wish to share accommodation together. Please contact Venice Studio should you be interested in this.
