Tokyo Program

July 14 – July 25, 2025

Studio Spaces

Work with the architects inside Fumihiko Maki’s celebrated Hillside Terrace in Daikanyama. Often described as an internship rather than academic classroom, the studio at Venice Studio is a place to learn about and experiment with the processes, methodologies, workflow, research and ideas of the architecture practice within your own design project.

Fieldtrips

See the endless traditional, modern and contemporary architectures of Tokyo, the countryside or even further afield with the architects during specially organised studio fiedtrips and site visits.

Talks

Our Venice Studio Talks program sees renowned architects and creatives come together to discuss new projects and design philosophies.

Opening & Closing Celebration

Be introduced to the program and meet the architects and students during a relaxed morning tea. A final celebration, after the presentation of the student projects, marks the close of the program.

Networking & Social Events

Meet all the architects and students from across the program at multiple meet-ups around the city.

Industry Recognition and Mentorship

A key aspect of the Venice Studio program is to foster interactions and connections between architect and student and to help facilitate this beyond the close of the program. Venice Studio is both professional environment / atelier and social condenser where life-long professional connections and friendships are made. Often considered a ‘travelling internship’ we aim to enable each student to build their network and capitalise on future industry opportunities.

Project Presentation

All design projects developed during the program are presented, for feedback, to the architects, special guests, student cohort and members of the public.

Portfolio

Students develop professional design projects for their portfolio.
